WELCOME TO MY GUARDSMEN SITE!!!

Update 12/21/07:

I have updated the video section and it now has various selections from the 4 DCI finals performances.

Additionally, Mike Haglund sent me a video file of a performance from 1977 in Racine (Horlick Field). His father made the tape from around the 15 yard line using a Super 8mm camera. The tape was converted to VHS several years ago and recently, Mike converted it to DVD. I have made the file available in it's entirety on the Video page. Please understand the that quality of this item is relatively poor and I don't believe there is anything Mike or I could do to improve it.

Finally, I have corrected some blatant formatting errors on several of the screens. There still may be some formatting problems, but for the most part, I think I have them corrected.

Update 02/21/07:

After a couple of weeks of being down, the GUARDSMENDRUMANDBUGLECORPS.COM site that hosts the 'Message Board' is back online.

Update 02/05/07:

The GUARDSMENDRUMANDBUGLECORPS.COM site that hosts the 'Message Board' is currently down due to inappropriate usage by spammers. The company that runs the site is working on getting things fixed. They hope to have things up and running by the end of the week (2/9/07).

Update 11/21/06:

The VIDEO page has been created and is now accessible.  As time allows, I will be rotating the items I have on the VIDEO page so make sure you check back to see what's new.

Just like I did with the AUDIO page, the first items I'm sharing are the Openers from the DCI Finals performances of the Guardsmen

Update 8/28/06:

The ALUMNI page has been created and is now accessible. My hope is that the Alumni page will function as an Alumni address book for anyone who would like to stay in touch with anyone else. The only information that is required when adding your entry is 'Marching' Last Name and First Name. Everything else is up to you.

Please be careful as you add your information because as of right now, I do not have an editting feature available. If you submit an entry that needs to be corrected, please send me an email with the corrections and I will take care of it.

Update 7/27/06:

The AUDIO page has been created and is now accessible.  As time allows, I will be rotating the items I have on the AUDIO page so make sure you check back to see what's new.

Website Created 7/19/06:

Currently, the HISTORY and PHOTOS pages are the only places you will find any content on the site. Additionally, if you click on 'MESSAGE BOARD', you will be taken to the existing Guardsmen site at

The information that I used for the HISTORY section is the article that Beth and Kathy Myers wrote for Drum Corps World. If you have additional history information that you would like to send me, please feel free to do so and I will do my best to incorporate it into what I already have. In the mean time, I want to thank Beth and Kathy for the time they put into writing it and to Beth for making it available to me.

I hope to have more content available in the next couple of weeks so keep coming back to check things out.

If you have any questions or comments, please email them to me at iraare@netins.net
